It now imperative for us in the preservation community to lobby our elected officials to bring this bill forward and vote on it. Each of us must contact our representatives and tell them that this bill. Intro 317, is incredibly important because:

· It will prevent the thoughtless destruction of unprotected historic properties so that they might be saved and not just mourned
· It will lend shape and structure to the process of emergency evaluation of a potential landmark that will benefit both community groups and developers
· It will help the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s work by giving the agency a clear schedule and process for emergency evaluations.

Contact your city council member today and ask to support this bill and bring it to a vote!
