internship & volunteer
opportunities
The Historic Districts Council offers internships
to high school, college and graduate students throughout the school
year and summer. The program teaches interns how community-based
preservation and public advocacy in New York work and offers experience
in special projects such as writing and research, public programming
and monitoring municipal agencies. Interns will gain an extensive
knowledge of the preservation community in New York City and a solid
understanding of how public policy and civic involvement interact
to allow preservation to happen. We are also currently in need of
interns to help with our website.
- Paid internships may be available
- Flexible hours
- Full and part-time positions
- Will involve office, and special project work
